No, not Thanksgiving; we did that last week in Obama’s America.
It is the 200th episode of Obama’s America. One a week for almost 4 years. That is right just 8 more episodes and another big celebration!! 4 years!
For right now, let’s enjoy number 200. I want it to be Special and brief.
So what I think I will do is openly explain exactly what Obama’s America is. WHY have I slammed Barack Obama relentlessly for 200 consecutive weeks except, last week, when I gave him a modest break for Thanksgiving. Just because…
From the start, my goal was and is every week, to focus on the basic flaws and hypocrisies of Barack Obama and his Presidency. I have no interest in writing about – and it would serve no purpose – writing about his very modest successes. Others do that all the time so why should I waste my time?
An additional reason is that Obama’s “successes” are simply exactly what could be expected from any Democratically-elected President. Had it been Hillary or any other Democrat who had been elected in 2008, anything Obama has done “good,” is exactly out of the standard Democratic President tool kit.
That is the point. Barack Obama promised us REAL change in 2008, a very different type of President. What did we get? Another Bill Clinton instead! So my view is that Barack Obama is a complete FAILURE and worse, I now believe he never had any intention of being a transformational President. What he did was play on the hopes of the majority for a better America?
There is a very precise moment when this Bitter Truth became clear. NO ambiguity at all. It happened exactly a few minute after 12 Noon on January 20, 2009, when after there was elation across the land in response to Barack Obama being elected President of the United States and the tremendous anticipation among all racial and ethnic groups and every age range for his upcoming inaugural that drew record crowds to Washington, DC, and to televisions not only across America but across the world – the new President Barack Obama delivered a dull inaugural Address in which his style was very muted unlike during the campaign. But far worse, he told us he was going to basically do nothing different than any other Democratic President.
Dull , boring and uninspiring!
Although his final paragraph was prophetic if properly read ..
“America: In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.”
Here is the correct and cynical interpretation. Obama intends to deliver the “gift” (sic) of the present to future generations. And that he did!
As for my style in exploring Obama’s America week after week, it is purposely satirical for those who think I can be harsh. Satire demands an appreciation for the style it embodies. Not that Obama does not deserve harsh. When I call Barack Obama one of the worst Presidents in American history, I clearly explain my logic. Likewise, when I call him a Con Man, I also explain my reasons.
It is based on my firm belief that he is indeed duplicitous. How he has responded to the African-American community is one painful example. He has refused, except when it is clearly politically useful to identify himself with Black Americans, and then when he does it is nothing but EMPTY rhetoric. The African-American community is no better off and in many ways is worse off than 6 years ago before Obama became President.
And let’s take a moment to talk about Ferguson and the murder of the late Michael Brown and the sham grand jury proceedings. There was never a doubt that process had ONLY one purpose – to demonize Brown and find Darren Wilson guilty of absolutely nothing – even though an unarmed Michael Brown was shot more than 6 times by Wilson including twice in the head. Wilson “claims” he feared for his life. Ever hear of a police officer aiming at a “suspect’s” head or that Brown must have been some superman that all the bullets to his body still made him a “threat” to Wilson.
So what does Barack Obama say? He urges calm. That yes, there are problems in America that must be addressed but he did not say how, and of course he never would because he is not a leader to say the least, and he has no identity with other African Americans.
If he had any integrity the least he would have said “the findings of this grand jury and the way the prosecutor conducted himself is open to serious question.”
Of course President Barack Obama said nothing at all like that. All he did was admonish the protesters and yap about long term solutions. Empty rhetoric!
Rather than continue here I will stop here.
There are still over 100 weeks of the Obama presidency to continue to dig into Obama’s America and try to prepare for something far better.
The Promise Obama never produced. And neither would Hillary Clinton.
