More luxurious too! More like the Taj Mahal – in concept if not design.
That’s right, this week’s episode is about the Obama “library,” once Barack finally leaves The White House in few months. Calling these permanent monuments Presidential libraries is like comparing Air Force One to a two seat propeller driven Piper aircraft. No comparison.
Why now? Because Barack and Michelle recently selected the architects who will design the monument to the Obama Presidency so that since it is very unlikely there will ever be an official national monument like the Washington or the Lincoln for Barack Obama – he does not need one – he will build a far more impressive monument to himself.
And the American people won’t pay for it – sort of …
Therein lies the real story of this week’s episode, but first let’s go over some of the details that interest the President and the First Lady.
(As an aside, next we won’t have a First Man in The White House with Hillary as the President from Hell because of a technicality – former President Bill Clinton is still called President. We’ll have two Presidents from Hell!)
Back to the so called Presidential Library …
Let’s turn to media partner The New York Times .. July 1, 2016.
“Obama Picks New York Architects to Design Presidential Library”
“President Obama and the team planning his life after the White House have selected Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, a New York-based husband-and-wife architectural duo, to design his presidential library in Chicago, tapping two modernists who are known for their refined work creating cultural and academic institutions.”
Note – these two architects design institutions not mere libraries!
Let’s get some more from The Times ….
“Mr. Obama’s plans for his presidential center are ambitious and expensive. His foundation last year released a global “request for qualifications” for architects who could design what it described as a high-technology take on the traditional archival presidential library, including space for innovation laboratories, community garden and sports. The president has begun raising money for the enterprise, for which he plans to collect as much as $1 billion.
NOW we’re getting closer to the REAL story.
Let’s repeat some of this from The Times …

What’s that? Barack plans to collect as much as $1 Billion. Elsewhere, he has reported to have said MORE than $1 Billion. But COLLECT is the interesting word – it did not say raise but COLLECT $1 Billion.
Maybe that was a journalistic Freudian slip? – “an unintentional error regarded as revealing subconscious feelings.” Interesting!
Let’s see if there is anything else interesting in the article before I get to the high quality meat I want to serve my readers.
“The President and first lady were involved throughout and set the tone from the beginning for an architect who could design a building of serious architectural ambition that would be a meaningful and important building for the 21st century,” Mr. Goldberger said.”
“Obama Foundation officials said they had yet to choose the site on the South Side of Chicago for the center. The Obamas’ have been torn for months between parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux: Jackson Park, the site of the 1893 World’s Fair that includes the Museum of Science and Industry, and Washington Park, which includes the DuSable Museum of African American History. Mr. Nesbitt said the foundation hoped to have a decision on the site by the end of the year, but it might be as long as two years until a building design emerges.”
Decisions, decisions, decisions! It must be so stressful for Barack and Michelle after all they are trying to build a 21st century Taj Mahal that also has the additional purpose of insuring for many generations to come those who toil in it will make sure the Obama are remembered as 21st century Gods.
Knowing the Obamas’ as I do here in Obama’s America, they will not be satisfied if they do not clearly beat out their only real competition for the best Presidential monument to themselves the Clinton Foundation and their so called “library.” It will be especially challenging because if Hillary gets elected ultimately, there will be TWO Clinton Presidential MONUMENTS.
So much stress! I would be easier if the Federal government just built national monuments for all Presidents and not reserve them for the best.
Now that I have set the stage while entertaining you let’s get to business.
SURPRISE this is all about the money what else but maybe not in the way you think unless you read all my episodes with great care. I have touched on this theme in many other different ways.
Let’s get back to that word “collect” $1 Billion or more. If you go around COLLECTING money as Obama will for his very expensive personal monument that is fundamentally different than raising $1 Billion.
Yes semantics are important! It is very simple if you are raising $1Biiilion that means you have to be very good at selling your project to those with lots of money so that they will buy into it. That takes a lot of time and effort.
But if you are collecting money collecting means you are collecting something that is owed you. So as The Times says Barack will be COLLECTING $1 Billion obviously from the very rich not you and me.
Why would they owe Barack these large checks? Because he did something for them and now he is collecting what is due him. So my theatrical analysis has a very real and painful point to make for us who are the losers.
Obama’s decisions as President have been shaped by his need to do for the rich and powerful so later he can COLLECT $1 Billion for his “library.”
No, no, no I do not mean President Obama took bribes from rich people. This is not the Very Wacky Right Wing here. Why would he that would be very stupid?. All the rich need from Barack Obama as President is for him to maintain the core Status Quo in American society. NO radical ideas or laws.
Even better that Obama is good at fooling Americans into believing he is making a serious difference when he clearly is not. More cover for the rich.
So have no fear that Barack and Michelle will have any trouble COLLECTING $1Billion. I think they can get it up to $2 Billion especially with Hillary in The White House and every day both of them telling everyone in America and around the Globe how great the other is.
The Status Quo brings Joy to the Rich and Obama will collect the reward.
