News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Oct. 5, 2012: Make no mistake about it.
There is only one “good” reason to vote for Obama. Because the ballot on Election Day should but will not include the option ….
NONE OF THE ABOVE.
We saw the real Barack Obama Wednesday night in the Debate. His dismal performance was not a mistake except in retrospect.
Obama gave the performance (sic) he wanted to give. His intent was to be bland. To say nothing. To literally be invisible.
It was the performance of a Con Man. The same one we elected 4 years ago and the one Barack Obama has always been. Obama was so far ahead of Mitt Romney going into the Debate and literally guaranteed to win re-election, that all he wanted to do was nothing that might change the situation. So he played defense. A classic strategy against an underdog in sports and politics.
As common a strategy as it is discredited in both politics and sports, playing it safe often proves the opposite – a disaster.
What Obama and his “team” blinded themselves to was the fact that he was debating another Con Man, Mitt Romney, who would have no hesitancy at all to lie about his positions on issues if that would upset Obama’s strategy, and it did.
Obama admitted it afterwards. That he was thrown off by Romney’s unexpected answers to questions and his policy statements that bore no comparison what he has been saying throughout the campaign. Proving again if you are a Con Man, what you fear most is another Con Man with a better line than you.
Obama and his ‘team” decided all he had to do was not lose the debate. Which meant not do or say anything that might upset the audience of voters. Like be nasty to Romney or be too forceful and seem less likeable then he has seemed to be. If Obama had some place he could have bought invisible paint and made it look like the only one on stage was Romney he would have done so.
The flip side for Obama of not wanting to seem strident or aggressive or too critical of Romney was that Obama also did not want to say more than he absolutely had to say. He would not take any strong positions or tackle any issues he could avoid like immigration or say anything that might make it necessary to do so in response to Romney’s reply to an Obama position.
The reality is like all “good” Con Men ultimately they are stupid, allowing their success to convince them the Con will always work. Never lose sight of the fact Obama always only had one goal to remain President. It is why his first term was nothing like what he promised us 4 years ago and why with re-election in sight because Romney proved such a ridiculous opponent Obama went into Wednesday’s debate intending to be as dull as possible and he was.
Except of course as he now knows, it did not work.
Literally everyone, including most Democrats and all the Obama sucking pundits, all had no choice but to declare Romney the winner because he did win this debate. Obama has given Romney new hope he certainly did not have before Wednesday night.
But for someone as pathetic as Romney it won’t be enough. Unfortunately there are three debates not just one and nobody including Obama is stupid enough to make the same mistake two more times. There will be no repeat for Romney. There will be no clear victory for him in the second and third debates.
There will be no clear cut winner which is all Obama needs to prevent any bounce Romney got from the first debate becoming a fatal problem for Obama. And it will be easy for Obama not to lose the next two debates. All he has to do is not be as pathetic as he was in the first debate. All he has to do is not play defense all night. Again he does not have to win just not lose. Easily done!
To make the point here, it is how easy it could have and should have been for Obama not to lose the first debate. Remember Obama did not need to win – all he had to do was not lose as he did.
All Obama had to do at any point during those 90 minutes, and he could have so easily, was raise the issue of Mitt Romney’s income taxes which Obama never did, and of course neither did Romney.
All Barack Obama had to do was say ….
Governor Romney, one of the biggest problem our nation faces isn’t as you claim poor people not paying more federal income taxes the problem isn’t the 47% of Americans you claim who aren’t paying their fair share like you and your rich supporters …
Governor Romney the real problem are rich Americans like you who don’t pay their fair share of federal income taxes. Shame on you Governor Romney with your annual income in the many millions of dollars and you paid just 13% income tax when the income rate for you even with the unfair Bush tax cuts for the rich I pledge to end even with the lower Bush tax for your income level the federal tax rate is 35% but all you paid is 13% …
SHAME ON YOU GOVERNOR ROMNEY!!
Instead Barack Obama is a Wimp and a Con Man and said nothing at all about Romney’s outrageous tax rate and he lost the debate.
As Obama deserved for being invisible Wednesday night.
