News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Feb. 22, 2018: Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton’s Long Walk to Freedom Concert is not until March 16th, but organizers say those looking for last minute tickets will have to settle for the bleachers.
Marlon Burke, representative of Solid Agency one of the producers of the event, was quoted by IrieFM Jamaica as saying tickets for the VIP, Grandstand and General Field areas are now completely sold out. Tickets began being sold in January online on the singer’s website and then at local Digicel stores on the island.
Banton’s concert is set for the National Stadium, in St Andrew’s Jamaica.
In January, thousands of tickets were quickly purchased after they went on sale on Caribtix.com and Buju’s official website, Bujubanton.com. The process then switched to physical sales in select Digicel stores earlier this month.
The Long Walk to Freedom Concert will also feature top stars like Chronixx, Cocoa Tea, Etana, Ghost, Romain Virgo, LUST, Agent Sasco and Delly Ranks sharing the stage with the Grammy winner and his son Jahazeil Myrie.
Banton was released from a US jail and sent back to Jamaica on Dec. 7, 2018. This week on Instagram, he broke his weeks of saying he has “deliberately kept my silence so I could observe with my own eyes what is going on, not only locally, but globally.”
But he said he now has “nuff [a lot of] things to talk [a]bout.”
