petit-martinique-grenada-newsamericasnowNews Americas, PETITE MARTINIQUE, Grenada, Weds. July 23, 2014: Can you guess where this is? This shot is from the small island of Petite Martinique, no relation to the island of Martinique.

Petite Martinique is actually a dependency of Grenada, lying north of Grenada island and south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Lesser Antilles. Petite Martinique is 2½ miles away from Carriacou, and also a part of Grenada.

It’s population is estimated at 10,000. The residents of this island live by boat-building, fishing and seafaring. Immigrants from the island to NYC this week celebrated Petite Martinique Day in Brooklyn, NY.
