News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Thurs. Jan. 28, 2016: American radio and television personality, business woman and actress, Alani Nicole “La La” Anthony is adding another title to her resume.
The Puerto Rican roots mogul, who describes herself as an Afro-Puerto Rican, will be co-producing ‘Eclipsed,’ the new Broadway show that will star African actress Lupita Nyong’o.
After a successful run at the public theater, Danai Gurira’s ‘Eclipsed’ has transferred to Broadway and will begin previews on February 23, 2016. ‘Eclipsed’ features an all female cast, director and playwright and tells the story of five extraordinary women brought together by upheaval in their homeland of Liberia.
This marks Anthony’s first foray into theater. “I am so thrilled to be joining a production filled with such powerful, talented women,” she commented recently. “Eclipsed is a stunning new play that demands to be seen, and to make my Broadway debut as a producer with it is an honor! I’m especially excited to join the production’s efforts to bring thousands of young women to see the show through its 10,000 girls’ campaign. What an extraordinary opportunity to pave the way for the next generation of commanding young women.”
Anthony can currently be seen in the newest season of the A&E drama ‘Unforgettable’ as well as on the Starz original drama series ‘Power.’
In 2014 she reprised her role as Sonia in the film “Think Like A Man Too,” and also appeared in “November Rule” and “Destined.”
