News Americas, LOS ANGELES, CA, Fri. May 8, 2015: Trinidad-born rapper, Nicholas Williams, better known as Trinidad James, has released a book of photographs based on his recent trip to his homeland.
“Trip$ To Trinidad: from Laventille with Love,” showcases images from the former Def Jam artist’s visit to Laventille, a Ward of Trinidad and Tobago, last month.
Speaking with HipHopDX’s Ural Garrett, James recalled the experience and what the photos mean to him. “It’s kind of more based off the feeling that I know I felt when I see the pictures of that day. It was a beautiful day in the ghetto. … When I seen the pictures it gave me that same appreciation and feeling for the world and for Trinidad, I want to share that with my people.”
The rapper has also released a new EP called “Trips To Trinidad EP” that includes a track called “Trini Wolve$.”
Williams was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad. His family moved to Canada, Florida, and New York before settling in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2012, he signed a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings. Without a debut album being released, he was dropped from the label in 2014, although he continues to release music as an independent artist.
