News Americas, MIAMI, FL, Fri. Aug. 24, 2015: At least five Caribbean nations were under a tropical storm watch last night as the center of Tropical Storm Danny is expected to pass through the southern Leeward Islands early today.

Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands were all under a tropical storm watch last night according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami while Antigua, Barbuda, Montserrat and St. Kitts and Nevis were under a Tropical Storm Warning.

At 8 P.M. last night, the center of Tropical Storm Danny was moving toward the west near 15 mph with the center expected to move near or over the southern Leeward Islands early Monday, and into the northeastern Caribbean Sea later Monday.

But the good news is a weakening is expected during the next 48 hours, and Danny is expected to become a tropical depression Monday.

Still Danny is expected to produce 2 to 4 inches of rain over the Leeward Islands, the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico through Tuesday.
