News Americas, FLUSHING, NY, Thurs. Sept. 5, 2013: The U.S. Open this week became a place not simply for upsets many could not imagine but for a slew of celebrities who showed up to take in the action.
The Rafael Nadal match on Wednesday, September 4th drew a slew of celebs including actress Vivica Fox and former NY Giants, Michael Strahnn.
Also taking in the Nadal match was also taken in by Dakota Fanning, Jessica Biel, Kathy Couric and John Paulson.
On Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, veteran actor Sean Connery, known for his James Bond roles, took in the upset match of Andy Murray who was ousted from the Open by the No. 9-seeded Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 in their quarter-finals match-up at Flushing Meadows.
Earlier in the week, A List actor Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio hung out with Lukas Haas at the match which saw Serena Williams blast her way into the semis. Also on hand at that match was former “Friends” star, David Schwimmer, who took in the action along with a female guest.
