News Americas, MARIGOT, St. Martin, Fri. Sept. 16, 2011: St. Maarten’s new director of tourism gave her update on the country’s state of the tourism sector at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s first State of the Industry Conference in St. Martin on Sept. 14th.
Interim director, May-Ling Chun, admitted the Dutch territory has seen a drop in visitor arrivals but did not reveal exact numbers to substantiate that claim.
But she insisted that St. Maarten is in the process of planning a new marketing campaign that will include a revamped website, advertising on social media and targeting of the Latin American and other emerging and niche markets, including the African American bloc in the U.S.
