The Best Caribbean islands for 2017 have just been announced by Travel & Leisure based on a global reader survey of activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness and overall value. Here is the Top 10.
1: Anguilla
Anguilla, known for its amazing beaches, took the top spot for Best Caribbean Island, with a score of Score: 86.87.
2: Culebra, Puerto Rico
In the second spot was Culebra, a small, sparsely populated island and surrounding group of cays off the east coast of Puerto Rico, with a score of 86.03
3: Â Vieques, Puerto Rico
Coming in at third was Vieques, the Caribbean island off Puerto Rico’s eastern coast known for its wild life and beaches, with a score of 85.06.
4: Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
In fourth was Virgin Gorda, a Caribbean island in the British Virgin Islands known for baths, a labyrinth of beachside boulders forming a series of pools and seawater-flooded grottoes, with a score of 85

5. St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands
Taking the fifth spot is St. John, the smallest of the three U.S. Virgin Islands and where the Virgin Islands National Park occupies more than half the island, with a score of 84.38
6: Harbour Island, Bahamas
Coming in at sixth is Harbour Island, located just northwest of Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas and known for the long pink sand beaches stretching along its eastern shore, with a score of 83.36.
7: Bermuda
The island of Bermuda, the British island territory in the North Atlantic Ocean known for its pink-sand beaches such as Elbow Beach and Horseshoe Bay, was ranked at 7th with a score of 84.10.
8. Exuma, Bahamas
At 8th on the Top 10 Rank is Exuma, a district of the Bahamas consisting of over 365 islands, also called cays, which scored 84.08.
9. Turks and Caicos
Coming in at 9th is the Turks & Caicos, an archipelago of 40 low-lying coral islands in the Atlantic Ocean and a British Overseas Territory, with a score of 83.96
10. Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands
Rounding out the Top 10 is Jost Van Dyke in the BVI, measuring just four miles by three miles and with fewer than 300 inhabitants, with a score of 83.44.
