News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Sept. 21, 2018: Three FIFA officials have been banned from football for life for their roles in the widespread corruption scandal at the governing body.
They are Aaron Davidson, former board chairman of the North American Soccer League (NASL) and former president of Traffic Sports USA, a sports marketing company; Costas Takkas, a former CONCACAF official and attaché to the former CONCACAF president of the Cayman Islands, Jeffrey Webb; and Miguel Trujillo, a former FIFA match agent and owner of sports consulting companies.
FIFA, in a statement Thursday, said its adjudicatory chamber found Davidson, Takkas and Trujillo guilty of having violated the bribery and corruption rules of the organization and as “a consequence, the officials are banned for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at national and international level.”
Additionally, the three were fined a total of US $1.3 million.
