News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. June 27, 2017: An internationally recognized Caribbean rapper has received the Key to the City of Queens, New York.
Trinidad-born rapper Nicki Minaj received the Key to the City of Queens, New York from Borough president Melinda Katz.
Katz said the Queens-raised rapper was being honored for her “outstanding career achievements in music.”
Minaj took to Twitter to tweet a photo of the key and to add: “This is a #MajorKeyAlert I just got the #KeyToTheCity #ProudQueensGirl Thank you #MelindaKatz Queens Borough PRESIDENT.”
The honor came as Minaj performed last night at the NBA Awards.
