Colette Cyrus-Burnett with Bobby Deen on the show.
News Americas, BROOKLYN, N.Y., Fri. Jan. 18, 2013: Trinidad & Tobago-born entrepreneur, Colette Cyrus-Burnett, has added a new flavor to her growing wing empire and she was not afraid to showcase it on the Cooking Channel this week.

Burnett, founder of the Brooklyn based Super Wings NY, appeared on Bobby Deen’s ‘Not My Mama’s Meals’ on the Cooking Channel on Wednesday, January 16th to whip up a batch of her world famous and healthy Bajan Merry Mango wing sauce.

Bobby Dean, the son of Food Network host, Paula Deen, and Burnett worked side-by-side, simmering traditional Caribbean ingredients, including mango, to create the delicious sauce.

The Bajan Merry Mango is a sweet, yet tangy wing sauce and has the dubious honor of being named by local customers of the restaurant as the Super Wings NY 2013 Super Bowl Wing Flavor.

During Super bowl weekend alone in the United States 90 million pounds of wings are served. Super Wings serves up thirteen wing flavors and there is a sauce to represent almost most islands in the English-speaking Caribbean.

The ingredients are made entirely from Caribbean flavors including; Pineapple Jerk, Ginger Buff, and Island BBQ all inspired by Burnett’s’ native Trinidad and Tobago where recipes are a tantalizing blend of mainly African, East Indian, Europe, China, Middle East and Mediterranean culinary traditions.

Burnett has gained national recognition in the United States: she won the Food Network Thrown Down with Iron Chef Bobby Flay, and Super Wings was voted “Best Wings In Brooklyn” and placed #3 in the “Restaurant Sauce Off” creative spicy category at the 10th Annual National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, N.Y.
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowit has called Burnett a true Brooklyn success story. The restaurant now has two locations.

“It is truly an honor to be featured on Not My Mama’s Meals, and I am even more thankful to our Borough President Marty Markowitz, NYC Business Solutions and most of all our customers,” stated Burnett.
