News Americas,  STARKVILLE, Mississippi, Mon. May 18, 2015: Trinidad and Tobago national Deon Lendore was the winner of the Men 400 Meter Dash at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, in Mississippi over the weekend.

Lendore, a Texas A&M senior, took the gold in a personal best time of 44.41, results show.

Only Grenada’s reigning Olympic champion Kirani James, the world-leader at 44.22, has run faster this season, the Trinidad Guardian reported.

The purpose of the Southeastern Conference is to assist its member institutions in the maintenance of programs of intercollegiate athletics which are compatible with the highest standards of education and competitive sports.
