News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Sept. 28, 2018: Former Olympian Usain St. Leo Bolt has been given until January to try and turn his dream of being a professional footballer into reality in Australia.
Bolt was given the additional months by Central Coast Mariners coach Mike Mulvey even as a Spanish-born soccer player claims he will beat Jamaican-born Olympic sprinter on speed on the pitch.
Wolves forward, Adama Traore, also known as Adama, says he is faster than Bolt with a ball at his feet. His comments come after being named the fastest player on FIFA 19.
Bolt is set to have his next pre-season match for the Mariners likely on Oct. 12th against the Sydney league side Macarthur South West United, with the A-League regular season due to start a week later on October 19th.
Traore said clearly “Bolt would beat me over 100 meters on the track but on grass, over 30 meters with a ball at my feet? I’m winning that race every time.”
