“We are planning a secure, well-managed and organized carnival festival,” said Tom Bailey, President WIADCA. “The new WIADCA team has been hard at work since I became president on April 12th. It has been a challenge because the transition was not as smooth as I would have liked. But we have been blessed with support and goodwill from a number of quarters and if there are shortcomings this year, rest assured, we will be better in 2013. We have already started to plan for 2013 and our 50th anniversary.”

Preparations for the final leg of WIADCA 2012 Carnival Festival & Parade took off with flying colors on July 11th with the start of Vendor Registration for the grand Eastern Parkway Parade. This year will see a return to the carnival tradition with unique demonstrations of traditional mas, steel pans “around the neck” and other never seen masquerade offerings in New York, direct from Trinidad & Tobago.
