News Americas, ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, Fri. Oct. 7, 2016: The West Indies Women’s cricket team will be in the spotlight again – beginning tomorrow in Jamaica.

The 13-member Windies women team will plays five One Day International (ODI) matches between tomorrow, Saturday October 8th and continuing through 19th at the Trelawny Multiplex and Sabina Park in Jamaica against their English counterparts.

The Windies Women are currently second in the standings on 20 points – 10 behind current ODI World champions Australia Women – and one ahead of England Women.

The team will be skippered by Stafanie Taylor while Anisa Mohammed is the vice-captain.  Other members of the team are: Merissa Aguilleira, Shemaine Campbelle, Shamilia Connell, Britney Cooper, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Erva Giddings, Stacy-Ann King, Hayley Matthews, Shaquana Quintyne and Tremayne Smartt.

The last three of the ODIs will count towards the ICC Women’s Championship, a multi-year, bilateral competition between the top eight international women’s sides, which will lead to automatic qualification for the top four teams to next year’s ICC Women’s World Cup to be hosted by the England & Wales Cricket Board.

The Windies Women are due to complete their schedule of ICC Women’s Championship matches in November on the road against India Women.

Sat. Oct. 8 – First One-day International – Trelawny Multiplex, Jamaica (9:30 a.m.)

Mon. Oct.10 – Second One-day International – Trelawny Multiplex (9:30 a.m.)

Fri. Oct.14 – Third One-day International – Sabina Park, Jamaica (9:30 a.m.)

Sat. Oct.15 – Reserve Day

Sun. Oct.16 – Fourth One-day International – Sabina Park (9:30 a.m.)

Mon. Oct.17 – Reserve Day

Weds. Oct.19 – Fifth One-day International – Sabina Park (9:30 a.m.)

Thurs. Oct. 20 – Reserve Day
