News Americas, St John’s, Antigua, Tues. Sept. 6, 2011: The West Indies women cricket team have won their series over Pakistan.
The Windies girls won the four match series 3-1. Anisa Mohammed was named Player of the Series after picking up 14 wickets, inclusive of two five wicket hauls.
The two teams will now contest a four match Twenty20 Internationals with two matches slated for Progress Park in Grenada (September 6th and 7th) and the final two for the Guyana National Stadium at Providence (September 10th and 11th).
The four ODIs were played at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex in St Vincent.
President of the West Indies Cricket Board, Dr. Julian Hunte, yesterday congratulated the team for their series triumph.
“This impressive victory signals to all that you continue on your path towards the very pinnacle of world cricket,” Dr. Hunte remarked in a message to Captain Merissa Aguilleira.
